Rash on the Face

Isaak has a cold. Blah! Our weather can't make up it's mind, so I'm sure that is just lovely for sickness. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 50s and on Thursday we're supposed to have a major snow storm.

Isaak is all red under his nose because he's been wiping it so much. :(

I noticed his face is really dry to. I have a lotion that contains only certified organic ingredients. I've used it on his arms and legs many times. I decided to apply some to his face. BAM he got hives all over.

I washed it off his face and gave him some allergy medicine. The rash was gone 30 minutes later. It stinks that Isaak has such sensitive skin. I'm like that to, but I don't think I was at his age.

Sing, Sing a Song Saturday

I started doing what I call Sing, Sing a Song Saturday.  I'm going to post one song on Saturdays that the boys or I like.

The song may be part of a movie, a kid's video or just a song we like. I'll try and include why we like it and/or the history of the song/singer.

The artist I'm covering this week is Birdy. Have you ever heard of her? She has a lot of likes on YouTube. You can buy her CD here. She grew up in a rather large, musically-inclined household in the New Forest, Birdy was born to be a musician. Her mother is a concert pianist and it wasn't long before Birdy took up piano at the age of 4 and began writing music from the age of 7.

Happy Valentines Day!

To everyone! Do you get into Valentines Day, or are you one of those people that hates the holiday? I could take it, or leave it. Since I have young kiddos, I try and make it fun.

Isaak's had 2 parties at school. He's in 2 preschools, so he gets to party it up. One was yesterday. He was so excited. Thankfully that is a small group. The preschool he's in today has a lot more kiddos. Mica has his party today. He brought his box that had black hearts on it for Black History month of course. ;) He's so silly!

I won a few things lately. Both were from Nutty blogs. :) I won a $100 GC to Fanny May Chocolates from A Nut in a Nutshell. I also won a GC to Jack Franklin - ties from Theresa's Mixed Nuts.

All my boys got a box of artisan chocolates at their table, a card and Daddy got a tie as well. The sucky thing is, is that it was still black as can be outside, so I had to use the flash for the pictures.

Both boys refused to let me help them open their boxes. They also wouldn't look up at the camera. Isaak had bed head.

We only let them have one chocolate. They are getting spaced out. They have to be eaten within 12 days of receiving them. These are good chocolates! Mica spent some time reading about each one and their different flavors.

While the little boys opened their chocolates, Daddy was making Eggs in a Basket. Have you had that before? I guess it was rated as one of the top breakfasts in the world on some site that Daddy found. I had never had it until he started making them. You cut a heat out of the bread with a cookie cutter. Then you grill the bread with egg in the open heart.

Here's Daddy with his tie:

Heads up! If you need a Valentines, there are a lot of printable ones online, for free. Board Inc. has some here: http://www.boredinc.net/sites/default/files/BoredIncValentines.pdf I printed them out for my students.

They have dirty ones like the one below. I do have to admit it's rather funny.
They also have just plain cute ones like the ones below.

Transcendent

Isaak wanted to build a fort earlier this week. He showed Daddy where I put his fort equipment. I thought it was funny that Isaak remembered I put his fort stash in the linen closet and Daddy forgot all about it.

Do you see Isaak's little clothes line?

Isaak claimed that he want to sleep in that spot on the loveseat. We let him. It lasted about an hour before he wanted to go to his real bed.

Here Isaak is! He said, "Mom I'm transcendent." I said, "Isaak do you mean transparent or translucent?" He said, "What is transcendent anyway?"

WW: 100 Years Old {Linky}

Our 7 year old had his 100th day of school. He had to write and draw what he'd look like at 100 years old.

Daddy said, "He'll have a hard time hearing for 100 years." He always forgets to draw the ears. It's good to know he'll have a cane to help him get around.

He Wants Glasses

One of my friends posted today that her daughter wants glasses. She actually cried when her pediatrician said she didn't need any.

Mica told me this weekend that he wanted glasses. I just forgot about it; until I read about my friend's daughter.

Why does Mica want glasses?

Because he wants to look like Clark Kent.

He also keeps running down the hallway to and from his room. Then pretends to open his shirt up. In fact lately he's been wearing a button down shirt over a t-shirt. All so he can open it up like Superman does.

He told me that Superman III is his favorite movie right now.

Today I Washed the Car

We didn't get hammered with snow. It's hard to believe. We have 4 true seasons in Nebraska. We've gotten snow as early as Halloween and we never know if Easter is going to be winter like or spring like. That makes it hard to get special outfits for those holidays. Humm...short sleeves or long sleeves? That's always the question.

Today is nice. We invited my parents over for dinner. I went to the store, and was just sick of how our car looked. It was so dirty. The boys love the car wash. I have a secret though. I've only gone to the car wash once, by myself, ever. I've been with other people. That one time that I went something didn't work. I was in line with a few cars behind me. I could not get the stupid code to work. The kids were in the car with me. I didn't know what to do. It's not like I could back up; with cars behind me. I don't ever remember what I did.

I've always hand washed it. It really takes the same amount of time to hand wash it, as it does to go to the car wash.

I'm not afraid of car washes. I'm just cheap and don't want to get stuck in front of cars again.

I called Daddy to ask him if he had time to take both cars to get them washed with me. He's like, "I don't have time. Why do we have to take them both to get washed at the same time anyhow?" I didn't have an answer. Other then to say, "I'm a complete dork when it comes to car washes." I'm not even the type of girl that has to have another girl go with me to the bathroom. I never understood that. I don't know why I'm so weird with getting the car washed.

I went home and as fast as I can I washed the car.

I missed a few spots. We don't have any hoses plugged in. I kept going in to get hot water in buckets. Yep I'm super lame for not sucking it up and just taking it in to get it washed at the car wash!

Isaak thought washing the car was so cool!!! He told me this more than once. He was all giddy when I washed it. Isaak said, "Wow we're making waterfalls. I love this Mom! Look Mica the waterfalls are now rivers!" He even helped me wash it.

Mica sprayed the tires with foam. They look brand new now.

Do you go to the car wash, or do you hand wash your car?
