It's Called Leave it Alone and Stay With Your Mama!

  • We went to the grocery store. Mica is known to try and run away. We've had many talks to him about good store behavior and safety. His punishment used to be that he'd have to get in the cart if he ran. The problem is that he's getting too big, and I need the room in the cart.
  • Today he spotted the Little Debbie end cap. Mica said, "Mommy what is this?" He was pointing at the Little Debbie Zebra Snack Cakes.
  • I said, "Mica they are called Leave it Alone and Stay With Your Mama!" The words just kind of came out of my mouth.
  • An older man overheard me and started cracking up, and shaking his head up and down.

Flu Shots

  • I took the boy's to get their flu shots this morning.
  • Mica went first. He knew something was up. He looked nervous, and got mad that we were holding him down. He just shouted and pouted afterward.
  • Isaak's turn. He had no clue what was about to happen, and cried after.
  • Mica skipped out of the doctors office, while Isaak limped
  • Isaak's much more of a needy kid when it comes to a little pain. He pointed out his Band-aid whenever he went potty the rest of the day.
  • I had a talk with Mica as to why we get shots. I do have to say that I've always had mixed feelings about shots. I'm not going to share any doubts with him. I said that shots are needed to try and keep us healthy.

I'll Sick to Sewing Paper!

  • I tore Mica's Buzz costume apart tonight.
  • I added a strip fabric in the center to extend the torso. The costume is a medium and is supposed to fit age 7. Mica's 5, and it's tight. He's torso long.
  • It fits barely! He'll have to wear it 3 times next week. Not to mention going potty!
  • Anyhow it was pretty frustrating process for me! There is this vest thing on the outside that's attached. It makes everything so hard to see.
  • I left 1/2 of the costume in tact, while I sewed the strip of fabric in.
  • I got done sewing everything. I was going to call it a night. ;)
  • I turned it right side out, and the legs were facing the wrong way! :( The costume had a pant leg in the front and in the back. I told Daddy that we could just combine Little Mermaid with Buzz Light Year
  • Needless to say I was DONE!
  • Daddy took over.
  • I'll stick to sewing paper; like I did during the summer for Isaak's room.

      Mind of a Mine?

      • We were driving and talking. We were talking about the mind. I don't recall why.
      • Mica's into defining things, which is good because it's building his vocabulary.
      • Mica said, "The mind is when trains roll down the track, and go into the mind. It's also in your head."
      • We were like, "What?"
      • Mica said, "You know like in Thomas when the trains go to the mind."
      • He was talking about a mine.

      Jeckle and Hyde

      • When I dropped Mica and Isaak off this morning, I mentioned how Isaak is like Jeckle and Hyde
      • He's either super sweet, or is a major punk. Grandma said, "Isaak! No he's not!" Either she didn't believe me, she was being sarcastic or she's in denial. Maybe he's just super sweet for them. He can be a real punk for us
Here's some of what Isaak does:

      The Good

      • He is a lover.
      • He loves blankets straight out of the dryer.
      • He carries around dolls and stuffed animals like they are precious to him. He's not like the punk kid on Toy Story {Sid} that blows up his toys!
      • He often times says, "Thank you!"
      • He loves hugs and kisses.
       The Bad

      • He's the type of kid that will hit Mica with a plastic hammer just because he thinks it's fun. This actually happened!
      • He's like his mom {yes I was this way, ok I still am a little} and bugs Mica a lot. To the point where Mica just wants to deck him.
      • We can never just make dinner. He's always pulling on my pants, trying to throw a ball while in the kitchen. Super cranky! I've stopped what I was doing to give him attention for 15 minutes. We've given him a few crackers to tide him over. It truly does not make a difference.
      • When he has his mind made up, that is it! If he wants Daddy to help him with something, and I come over to help him; he is a real jerk, and throws a fit.
      That's my boy.
Thinking of Jeckle and Hyde reminded me of the old cartoon characters Heckle and Jeckle. In fact I always thought their names were Jeckle and Hyde.

      Sleepy Zeek

      • I called Grandma and Grandpa Spiehs (mom and dad to me) over the lunch hour.
      • Isaak fell asleep in Grandpa's arms this morning. He slept for an hour.
      • This never happens at our house.
      • He's usually playing too hard to sleep.

      CSN | Stores Product Review

I was contacted by CSN | Stores once again. I was up for anther product review! I've done a few other reviews and giveaways for them.

CSN | Stores has so much to choose from. I could seriously find just about anything for my house at  their stores.

This time I picked out a Melissa and Doug dog. Melissa and Doug products are amazing! Their products are just so well crafted! They have a lot of different dog breed's. The breed I got is German Shorthaired Pointer

Mica is in love with this dog, and so am I! As you can see, I could not stop taking photo's.
I may just have to buy a few more before the holidays.

The cost of this dog is originally $50, but CSN | Stores has it marked down to $34.99.

What breed of dog you buy is the same size as the real dog.

I'm allergic to anything furry, so getting my dog lover's something that looks real is great! To the allergy suffers like me: You can put any stuffed animal in the freezer to kill bed bugs. This stuffed animal is pretty big. It will fit in our deep freezer. It does clean up well with a wet rag.

I first saw many Melissa and Doug dog's at a children's museum in Lincoln, NE. Their pretend vet was full of dogs. Kid's were walking around with them. My kid's included.

Please take some time to visit CSN | Stores! They do have such a great selection. It's a great place to start with your holiday shopping!

They have fast turn around. I've never had to wait very long to get my packages from  CSN | Stores!

      ZZZZZ's

      • It was so nice that Mica took a nap on Saturday for me.
      • He is a much better boy when he naps.
      • I know he's got to give up the naps sometime. He's 5 years old now. He'll be going to all day school next year. Mica's hyper and naughty when he doesn't nap.
      • More times then not he doesn't want to nap for me on the weekends. The neighbor's got a dog that likes to bark during nap time. I can't complain because it is during the day. He has every right to bark.
