Little Piggy

  • I was doing wash today and in the bottom of the washer was a little plastic pig.
  • I came up and asked Mica where he got it? He said, "I got it from Joyce at preschool".
  • I have no clue who Joyce is.
  • He said, "You know, the lady in the office".

Not a Great Morning

  • Isaak woke up screaming crying last night 3 times. He did not have a fever. I'm not sure if it's an ear infection, or more teeth. To this date he has not had a single ear infection.
  • It snowed, so I was a little worried about sliding into work. Then I was annoyed that I'd have a 1/2 full classroom. Most of the students live within walking distant, so it sort of annoys me.
  • We also found that our dishwasher is doing its not working thing. Daddy has to call Service One to come out, and we may just need to get a new one. It's something we've known about, but keep hoping it hangs on a little longer.

Stop That This Instant!

I was reading Mica No David! tonight, and he started cracking up when I got to the page where David was picking his nose. The page says, "Stop that this instant!"

Mica said, "Mommy that's what I do!"

I said, "Yep...that's what you do, and we to say, 'Stop that this instant!'"

What to Do With Zeek's Hair?

  • Daddy cut the back of Isaak's hair two nights ago. He didn't cut the front. Daddy knows how to cut hair short, but doesn't know how to cut a longer style.
  • I don't like that in-between stage in growing a boy's hair out. With a girl you can just pin it back.
  • With Mica we've always kept his hair fairly short. He gets sweaty easily from playing, gets hat head and has cowlicks.
  • With Isaak I kind of want his hair longer. But it's hard getting it there. Do we just say the heck with it and cut it short, or just keep trying to grow it out? He's not a really messy kid that gets food in his hair often. His hair is really fine, baby hair still.
  • These are the hair cuts I like:
Yes I like Michael Jackson's son's hair! He still looks like a boy, but it's long. Yes hair might go in his eye's sometimes. But...man it is cute. I can see Isaak with this hair style. Yes I like the bowl cut too. It wouldn't go in his eyes. It would need to be cut often, so that it wouldn't go in his eyes. But...I almost think his hair needs to be thicker for this cut to look good. Or...do we just cut it short because Daddy can do that? It would be more manageable short. Plus it's a free cut all the time. It's just not how Mommy wants it.

Baby Eczema

Oh how I wish Isaak's skin would be baby soft like his hair is baby fine!

He has what I call, "Chicken Skin". He has baby eczema problems every once in awhile.

This problem used to be worse. Mica had it too. I'm only hoping Isaak grows out of it like Mica did.

Do you have sensitive skin?

Eczema and Dermatitis can be really difficult to get rid of.

Exciting!

  • I'm excited my friend Sarah is having another girl, she has twins girls already! No Pee Pee TeePee's for her to use on a baby boy. LOL
  • I won Baby's First Phone Call $50 for her, so I handed it over. So exciting!
  • I had a student that had a baby boy this week. It's her first. I hope everything is going well for her. She kept asking me for advise, so I gave it to her when she asked. She's a good students, so I hope things work out for her. I'm really hoping that she'll be able to do what she wants and finish up her degree. It will be a challenge.
  • I have a blogging friend that just announced she's pregnant!
  • I love babies. I joke with Daddy that I'll have to get one of those dolls that looks like a real baby just because I love dolls and babies. I want one for myself. It's only fair that I get one since I didn't have a girl. "Savannah Claire" is what we would of named a girl. He said, "It would be kind of creepy having a doll laying in-between us". There wouldn't be. If I were to get one, the doll would sit in my doll cabinet, and would be handed down to grandchildren. I love the realistic ones from JC toys!
  • Funny thing is, if I got one I'd probably get a boy doll because Isaak does love his dolls. He loves trucks and balls too.
  • In my generation some boys got dolls. Two of my cousin's had boy Cabbage Patch Kids and then there was My Buddy too. Now you can't even find boy dolls in the stores.

Back to Babysitting

  • Yesterday Grandma and Grandpa Spiehs started to watch the kids again. I was a littler nervous, thinking it may be too much for both of them. Grandma still isn't getting around the best. She tires out easily. Grandpa forgets things because, well men aren't the best at multitasking.
  • It ended up that they did fine. Mica was at preschool all morning.
  • We made them lunch, so they just had to dish it up and heat it up to eat.
  • I made a whole chicken, Daddy made Couscous, which I don't know if they liked. They were a little hesitant in saying anything one way or another. Couscous is a lot like rice I think. I brought a can of green beans. Then made brownies, and used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut them out (special treat)! I let them worry about the fruit. If they didn't have fruit that's ok, the boys have fruit a little too much.
  • They told me that Isaak acts different when it's just him. He's more meek and sweet. He's not a bad boy, he can just be a punk of a two year old - just like any other two year old boy can be.
  • Grandpa Spiehs informed me that he tried to read to Isaak. Isaak didn't want any part of that! He only wanted Grandma to read to him.
  • Isn't it funny how kids get selective on who does what with them? I generally give the baths, read to them. Daddy generally plays Team GeoTrax with Mica and I'm more the Thomas girl. We all have our roles in their little lives.

Edible Things

  • I've seen a few decorating things lately that I want! They are kind of different.
  • The first one is edible pearls. It would be fun to use these on cookies or cakes. My birthstone is alexandrite, which pearl is its substitute since alexandrite is so expensive.
  • Grandma Spiehs gave me a few edible markers before Christmas. I like them!
  • These I really want! They are edible googly eye's.
  • They could be used on animals, or people.

Whole Foods

  • We went to Whole Foods to shop and eat dinner.
  • The kids ate as much as we did.
  • Mica ate an adult slice of pizza, minus the crust. He also ate some fruit off of Isaak's plate.
  • Isaak filled up on fruit, rice, green beans and chicken with curry sauce which he LOVED.
  • Isaak's sort of an opposite eater to his older brother Mica. Isaak likes food with a kick, and Mica freaks out saying, "It's hot Mommy!" Mica likes pizza, which Isaak mainly throws.
  • It's a good thing we have a variety to eat at our house.

Sweetly You

  • My Organized Chaos is giving away Premium Body Lotion, Solid Scents and Essential Sugar Scrub from Sweetly You!
  • I was reading through their scents, and my tummy started growling. I think I'd pick German Chocolate Cake.

Orthopedic Doctor

  • Isaak got his stitches out last Friday, and the doctor he saw gave Daddy some names for Isaak to go see an orthopedic doctor about his bowed feet. His left foot is worse then his right one.
  • I called the first one on the list that was recommended to me. Luckily Aunt Angela has a close friend that worked with this doctor, so she knew all the doctors in this office. ;)
  • He's going in at 8 AM next Monday. I was not expecting for him to get in so early.
  • We'll see what the outcome is on Monday.

Musicolor Giveaway

  • I think Mica would love this Musicolor that Now What Baby is giving away.
  • It's so different! It will play songs to the music markers! Each marker is a different note.
  • We've struggled with Mica in writing and coloring. He just looses interest fast.
  • This toy might make him interested since he loves music!

My Tot Clock Giveaway

  • For some reason clocks are something toddlers are just drawn too.
  • Mica was such a great sleeper, and part of it I give credit to clocks.
  • We started something we called, "Tour de Clocks". When it was bedtime, Daddy would walk around with Mica and show him the main clocks in our house. This was our way of saying, it was time to go to bed. He loved it, and looked forward to, "Tour de Clocks" every night. People couldn't believe that he just went to sleep so easily.
  • They have product on the market called a My Tot Clock. My Wee View is giving one away!
  • I love that it has different features. It changes color for different things. It has a time out feature and a night light, which I love. :)

Cracker Barrel

Nowali Moccasins

Sucker Time

  • I had Mica help me unload the dishwasher.
  • I was so excited during this experience because I found the lids to my littlest Tupperware's. They were right there in front, and I haven't been able to find them since the fall. Go figure.
  • Back on subject...Mica spotted suckers in the cupboard. They too have been there since Halloween time. I should just throw them away. Of course Mica wanted one, and Isaak has to have everything Mica has. Isaak got a little sucker. They didn't make too much of a mess.

Jack-in-the-Box

  • Isaak still likes the Jack-in-the-Box. He loves to wind the handle around, but sometimes can not get Jack back in the box.
  • Instead of handing the toy over to Mommy or Daddy for help, he gets all frustrated because no matter how hard he tries he can't get Jack back in the box. He has to do it himself.

A La Peanut Butter and Jelly Sanwiches

  • I gave the boy's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch.
  • Isaak dissected his sandwich.
  • He was sticking his fingers in to wipe all the peanut butter and jelly off, licked his fingers clean, only to do it again and again. He ate the soggy bread last.

Dinosaur Boner

  • Mica came into our bedroom this morning with a toy that looked like a paleontologist tool.
  • He was lightly hitting my leg with it and said, "I'm digging for dinosaur bones Mommy!"
  • He did it for about 5 min. and later said, "I'm a dinosaur boner!"
  • Daddy and I started cracking up.
  • Mica said, "What's so funny?"
  • I said, "Nothing, you're just so cute!"
  • He said, "Mommy you're handsome."
  • I said, "Thank you Mica!"

Who's That Sleeping in My Bed?

  • This was Isaak on Friday before we left to go to work.
  • He wakes up and lays with us for a half hour usually before we get up for good.
  • The boy loves to take the covers off, sticks his feet way up in the air, so we can't get them back on.
  • He's such a little punk!
  • On Friday he fell back asleep, usually he's up and ready to play.
